Gameday preview: Gophers women's basketball at Michigan

Preview: After starting the Big Ten season 0-3, the Gophers (10-7, 1-3 Big Ten) got their first league victory on Jan. 7 against Wisconsin. Sunday's game will be their first since then; a scheduled game Wednesday against Northwestern at Williams Arena was postponed following the death of Wildcats guard Jordan Hankins. It has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 13. Michigan (14-4, 3-1) is 9-0 at home and has only one loss this season to an unranked team.

Players to watch: Gophers G Carlie Wagner is averaging a team-high 18.2 points per game — tied for eighth in the Big Ten — and G Kenisha Bell is 11th in the conference with 17.3 points per game. C Bryanna Fernstrom tops the league with 3.0 blocked shots per game in conference play and is ranked sixth in rebounding (8.8 per game). G Katelynn Flaherty, No. 4 on Michigan's all-time scoring list with 1,614 points, leads the Wolverines with 18.9 points per game. Michigan F Hallie Thome is pacing the team in Big Ten play with 20.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

Numbers: The Gophers have lost their past two games against the Wolverines but have won 17 of the past 23. They are 14-15 in Ann Arbor. … Michigan's defense is ranked second in the Big Ten, yielding 56.9 points per game.
