U to pursue first appearance in title game since 2010

Preview: The seventh-seeded Gophers (21-12) are playing for their second appearance in the Big Ten tournament championship game; they lost to Ohio State in 2010. The Wolverines beat the Gophers both times they played in the regular season, 69-60 in Minneapolis and 59-57 in Ann Arbor. The Gophers, 2-17 vs. Michigan since 2009, haven't beaten the Wolverines since an 83-78 overtime win at home on Feb. 19, 2017.

Players to watch: Gophers junior guard Amir Coffey is averaging 25.8 points in his past five games. Michigan's Iggy Brazdeikis, who leads the team in scoring at 15 points per game, was named Big Ten freshman of the year this season.

Numbers: The Gophers are 1-3 vs. the Wolverines in the Big Ten tournament. Their only win was as the No. 10 seed vs. No. 7 seed Michigan in 2006.
