Gophers gameday

8 P.M. VS. CLEMSON • WILLIAMS ARENA • ESPN2 (1500-AM)

Gophers at a glance: The Gophers (4-2) are coming off a 93-90 victory over Nebraska Omaha on Friday, squeaking by after hitting only three of eight free-throw attempts in the final 24 seconds. Freshman Jordan Murphy and sophomore Bakary Konate each scored a career-high 14 points, and Konate also had a career-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore G Nate Mason ranks 94th nationally with a 3.11-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. … The Gophers rebound margin sits 273rd nationally, as their opponents are averaging 3.8 more rebounds per game … Junior F Charles Buggs has more than doubled his production in points (8.3), steals (0.8), rebounds (5.0) and blocks (0.8) from last season and has the best shooting percentage (.545) on the team.

Clemson at a glance: After four years without an NCAA tournament bid, the Tigers (4-1) are trying to put together a better 2015-16 campaign under sixth-year coach Brad Brownell. As always, Clemson has been stingy on defense this season: Its scoring defense was ranked fifth nationally entering Sunday. Landry Nnoko, a 6-10 senior, has 15 blocks in five games and the fourth-best block percentage in the country. Clemson's struggles have been with consistent scoring, but junior Jaron Blossomgame appears to have taken a big leap in that department. The versatile wing has averaged 20.7 points in the past three games, including 22 points in a 76-58 rout of Rutgers on Wednesday.
