Game 3 recap
Star Tribune’s three stars
1. Semyon Varlamov, Avalanche: Unbeatable for the first 65 minutes. Stopped 45 shots.
2. Mikael Granlund, Wild: Scored his first career playoff goal 5:08 into overtime on his seventh shot.
3. Darcy Kuemper, Wild: In his first career playoff start, he made 22 saves for the Wild’s first playoff shutout.
Granlund’s overtime goal was obviously the exclamation point in this game, but the Wild came out with a fever, outshooting the Avs 22-8 in a dominant first period that established the tone for the game and kept the crowd alive and screaming.
