Chef Rick Bayless, far right, goes over the daily menu with his staff at Frontera Grill in Chicago. Star Tribune file photo.

I'll do just about anything to avoid flying into Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. But I'm rethinking that firmly entrenched attitude, now that Rick Bayless, chef/co-owner of Chicago's Frontera Grill, has announced his intention to open a pair of fast-casual restaurants this fall, located inside the airport's Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Find a short news item here.

No other details, but I wonder if they'll resemble his Frontera Fresco, the quick, inexpensive tortas-tamales-huaraches counter that Bayless operates on the 7th floor of the vast Macy's store (the former Marshall Field's historic flagship location) on State Street in Chicago's Loop, as well as several other Macy's locations (but, sadly, not in Minneapolis). Air travelers should be so lucky.
