Roseau 3, Brainerd-Little Falls 2 (4 OT): Tied 2-2 after two periods, the second-seeded Rams (19-8-1) and top-seeded Warriors (25-3) needed 51 more minutes to crown the Class 2A, Section 8 champion in girls' hockey Friday night. Ella Helgeson scored the game-winner 1:40 into the fourth overtime to send the Rams back to the state tournament. Kayla and Lindsey Santl also had goals for the Rams. Cheyenne Abear and Grace Schulte scored for the Warriors.

Boys' basketball

Maple Grove 58, Armstrong 56: Down five points at the break, the Class 4A, No. 2 Crimson needed a second-half comeback to survive against the unranked Falcons. Brad Davison led the Crimson with 18 points and Tywhon Pickford added 17. The Falcons' Race Thompson had 22.

Apple Valley 77, Lakeville South 56: Eagles head coach Zach Goring got his 200th career victory with a win over the Cougars. Tre Jones, Nathan Macho and Ely Hendrickson each had 17 points for Apple Valley. Jones added 14 rebounds and eight assists. Jack Sorenson led the Cougars with 18 and Shae Mitchell had 16.

Chaska 83, Benilde-St. Margaret's 62: Myles Hanson scored 48 points, including 33 in the first half, as the Hawks ran past the visiting Red Knights. Teammate Cole Nicholson added 12 points. The Red Knights had four players in double digits, led by Derek Drees with 18.

Girls' basketball

Elk River 68, Centennial 66 (OT): Gabi Haack scored 18 points and Sidney Wentland added 12 as the Class 4A, No. 2 Elks need overtime to defeat the visiting Cougars. Teammate Ava Kramer finished with 10 points. The Cougars' Sydney Stapletonhad 22 points and Sara Stapleton added 18.

Apple Valley 64, Lakeville South 55: Lyndsey Robson scored 18 points to lead the Class 4A, No. 6 Eagles past the host Cougars. Brynne Rolland added 16 and Sara Teske 13. The Cougars' Katie Guentzel had 25 points and Bianca Biffert added 14.

Park 43, East Ridge 41: Riley Perryman scored 15 points to lead the Wolfpack to an upset win over the Class 4A, No. 10 Raptors. The Wolfpack took a five-point lead into halftime and held on for the victory. Mariah Sexe led the Raptors with 12 points.

Winona 58, Northfield 51: Led by Abby Winter with 15 points, the Class 3A, No. 7 Winhawks defeated the No. 6 Raiders on the road. Teammates Danneka Voegeli added 14 points and Maria Appicelli 13. Grace Touchette led the Raiders with 11 points.
