Hopkins, the top-ranked girls' basketball team in Class 4A pounded Lake Conference rival Minnetonka 81-55 on the road Friday night.

Sophomore Paige Bueckers and senior Raena Suggs both scored 30 points to lead the Royals. Through four games, Bueckers is averaging 27.8 points per game. As a team, the Royals are averaging 84.5.

Senior center Zoe Hardwick led the Skippers with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Both teams will play again Saturday in the Breakdown Invitational at Minnetonka. Hopkins will play Iowa City West at 3:45 p.m. The Skippers will face Apple Valley at 5:30 p.m.

Glencoe-Silver Lake 79, Hutchinson 72: The Monahan sisters combined to score 64 points as the Panthers upset the Tigers, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A. McKenna, a senior, scored 40 points and Miah, a freshman, 24. Hutchinson was paced by MaKenzie Rensch with 23 points.

Big Lake 65, Becker 64: The Hornets came away with a road victory against the Bulldogs. Mia Huberty scored 16 points and Annika Poe 13 for Big Lake. Julia Bengston scored 15 for Becker.

White Bear Lake 61, East Ridge 46: Courtney Crouch scored 28 points to lead the Class 4A, No. 10 Bears past the Raptors. The White Bear Lake defense held every East Ridge player below double digits.

Eden Prairie 52, Minneapolis North 44: Tiffany McNeil's game-high 26 points wasn't enough to push the Polars past the Eagles. Abby Johnson had 21 points for Eden Prairie.

Boys' basketball

Forest Lake 84, Blaine 68: Senior Manny Jinco scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Rangers past the Bengals. Thad Ball added 19 points and Steven Colon 12. Ray Mitchell scored 17 points for Blaine while Sam Browne and Tony Strand both had 12.

Chaska 58, Eagan 38: Cole Nicholson had 21 points to lead the Hawks past the Wildcats. Parker Bjorklund added 15. Kurt Ohlhues led Eagan with nine points.

St. Louis Park 76, Minneapolis Washburn 59: Cire Mayfield scored 21 points to lead the Orioles past the Millers while Jacob Houts had 13. Terrell Adams led the Millers with 15 points and Charles Cook-Gordon added 10.

Maple Grove 57, Rogers 50: Alex Battist led the Crimson with 19 points. Jared Rainey added 16 points. Jordan Belka had a game-high 22 points to lead the Royals.

Boys' hockey

Brainerd 4, Benilde-St. Margaret's 0: Senior netminder Colin Kleffman of the Warriors stopped 22 shots to shut out the Knights. Matt Fischer led Brainerd's scoring attack with two goals. Jack Evans and Luke Johnson each had one goal and Mason Krise had two assists.

Fergus Falls 5, Providence Academy 5 (OT): Senior Nate Longtin had a hat trick to lead the Otters in the tie with the Lions. Grant Ellings and Zach Giesler both scored two goals to lead Providence Academy. Giesler also had an assist.

Notes

Career milestone: Cretin-Derham Hall senior center Daniel Oturu, who has signed with the Gophers, went over 1,000 rebounds for his career in the Raiders' 75-61 loss to Edina on Thursday. Oturu had 15 rebounds to give him 1,013.
