No. 1 St. Cloud State tied with Princeton 3-3 on the road Friday night in a nonconference men's hockey game.

The Tigers (6-7-2) took a 3-1 lead on Ryan Kuffner's power-play goal at 7 minutes, 57 seconds of the third period. The Huskies (12-2-2) countered with two power-play goals of their own. Blake Winiecki got the first at 11:40 and Jimmy Schuldt the second at 18:21.

Jeff Smith stopped 17 shots for SCSU. Ryan Ferland had 37 saves for Princeton and was especially busy in overtime when the Huskies had a 14-0 dominance in shots on goal.

No. 17 Minnesota Duluth 5, Yale 0: Blake Young had two goals and Hunter Shepard made 29 saves as UMD beat Yale in the Ledyard Bank Classic at Dartmouth. Karson Kuhlman and Parker MacKay each had a goal and an assist.

Big Ten

No. 9 Ohio State 3, Niagara 2: Tanner Laczynski scored with seven seconds left in the third period as the host Buckeyes edged the Purple Eagles. Matt Miller and Sam McCormick has the other Ohio State goals, 31 seconds apart late in the opening period. Sean Romeo had 28 saves for OSU, Brian Wilson 29 for Niagara.

Northern Michigan 4, No. 7 MSU Mankato 3: Joseph Nardi scored with 36 left in the third period as the Wildcats upset the Mavericks in Mankato. Parker Tuomie, Jake Jaremko and Riese Zmolek all had a goal and an assist for MSU Mankato, which outshot Northern Michigan 29-18.

Bemidji State 3, Alabama Huntsville 1: Adam Brady scored two goals, one an empty-netter, as the host Beavers beat the Chargers. Zach Whitecloud had the other goal for Bemidji State at 15:57 of the second period; it was his first goal of the season.
