Omaha, No. 2 UND tie

• OMAHA 2, NORTH DAKOTA 2 (OT, tie): Nick Schmaltz's goal early in the third period Friday got No. 2 UND (9-3-2, 4-2-1 NCHC) a tie. But after a scoreless overtime, the visiting Mavericks (7-2-2, 3-1-1) won a shootout 1-0 on Dominic Zombo's goal for an extra point in the conference standings. Justin Parizek had a goal and an assist in the second period for No. 11 Omaha. Gage Ausmus had the other UND goal.

• ST. CLOUD STATE 6, BEMIDJI STATE 3: The No. 16 Huskies (6-6-1) beat the Beavers (3-10) in Bemidji on Tim Daly's power-play goal at 8:44 of the third period. It broke a 3-all tie. Jim Murray, Andrew Prochno, Joey Benik, Jonny Brodzinski and Brooks Bertsch scored St. Cloud State's other goals, the last two on empty-netters. Bemidji State, which led 1-0 and 2-1, got goals from brothers Myles and Gerry Fitzgerald, and Nate Arentz. Charlie Lindgren had 16 saves for the Huskies, Michael Bitzer 23 for the Beavers.

• WESTERN MICHIGAN 6 OHIO STATE 2: Frederik Tiffels had a hat trick as the Broncos (4-8-1) beat the Buckeyes (4-8-1) on the first day of the Shillelagh Tournament in South Bend, Ind. Anthony Greco and Chad Niddery scored goals for Ohio State.

• PRINCETON 3, MICHIGAN STATE 1: Colton Phinney made 44 saves and Dave Hallisey scored the winning goal in the 15th minute of the second period to lead the host Tigers (2-6-1) over the Spartans (4-8).

• MICHIGAN 3, RPI 2: Tyler Motte and Zach Hyman scored 29 seconds apart late in the third period to rally the Wolverines (6-6) past the visiting Engineers (6-8-1). Alex Kile gave Michigan a 1-0 lead late in the opening period, but RPI scored the next two goals. Riley Bourbonnais had one of the goals and one assist. Zach Nagelvoort made 25 saves for Michigan.

• WISCONSIN 1, FERRIS STATE 1 (OT, tie): Matt Ustaski's second goal of the season, at 2:13 of the second period, broke a scoreless tie at the Kohl Center but the Badgers (0-8-1) had to settle for what officially counts as a tie despite winning a shootout 1-0. Joel Rumpel kept the Bulldogs (7-6-1) scoreless until Andrew Dorantes' goal at 7:29 of the third. In the ensuing overtime, Ferris State outshot Wisconsin 5-0 but couldn't beat Rumpel, who finished with 34 saves. C.J. Motte had 22 saves for the Bulldogs; he got beat by Morgan Zulinick in the shootout.

• MSU MANKATO 7, LAKE SUPERIOR STATE 0: Brett Knowles had a hat trick and Chase Grant two goals and an assist for the No. 7 Mavericks (10-3, 8-1 WCHA) in a road rout of the Lakers (3-12, 3-8). Stephon Williams made 24 saves for the shutout.
