Two words: More cowbell! The hard-clunking beat is just some of the fun offered in the paint-splattered video for "Electric Fever," the new single from the second-best-known Minnesotan band living out east, Free Energy.

The tune comes from the Philly-based quintet's sophomore album, "Lovesign," which is now slated for a Jan. 15 release via their own label Free People. Their locally adored debut album, 2010's "Stuck on Nothing," came out on LCD Soundsystem guru James Murphy's imprint, DFA Records. Murphy also produced that disc.

This one was made with John Agnello, who helmed "Boys and Girls in America" and "Stay Positive" by that other great East Coast Minnesotan band (and has worked with Sonic Youth and Drive-by Truckers). It's looking like the boys might come home for an album-release party in January, but no info has been released yet.
