Veterans Day brings free meals, pet care, other deals for vets

On Veterans Day Friday, Nov. 11, Americans thank veterans and active servicemen and women for their service. Many restaurants and retailers offer discounts in celebration. Here's a list of national and local offerings for today and Monday.

Dock 86 in Little Canada offers specials on sofas, tables and mattresses.

Leo's Grill & Malt Shop in Stillwater offers a free meal today between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Chipotle offers a BOGO on burritos, bowls, salads and tacos after 3 p.m. Friday.

Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley are offering a free buffet meal on Monday, Nov. 7 for active military and veterans. The casino changed their offer due to renovations..

Buffalo Wild Wings: On Friday, veterans and active duty military receive a free small order of 10-12 traditional or boneless wings and a side of fries.

Gordmans: Get a $10 Gordmans savings card with any purchase as well as 15% off on Friday, Nov. 11.

Crayola Experience at MOA and others: Free admission for vets and military members and 50% off for children, parents, dependents and grandparents.

Slumberland offers a 10% discount for Veteran's year round, but through Nov. 11 (and maybe into next week), the discount increases to 15%.

Mission Animal Hospital in Eden Prairie (952-938-1237) is offering free wellness checks, heart worm testing, core vaccinations and nail trims for dogs and cats of veterans Nov. 17th from 4-7 p.m. Mission is a nonprofit full-service animal hospital.

Several sources track the list of deals at the nation's restaurants and retailers on Veteran's Day. The list has a bent toward national chains, but it never hurts to ask a local restaurant or retailer for their Vet's Day specials.
