Police are investigating an outbreak of gunfire in north Minneapolis that injured four people Sunday night.

The victims, who were taken to area hospitals, reportedly did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police responded to reports of a fight and gunshots at 8th Avenue N. and Humboldt Av. N. about 9:20 p.m., according to police spokesman John Elder. A woman at the scene was taken to a hospital with a noncritical gunshot wound, Elder said. Three other victims, police later learned, had "self-transported" to area hospitals.

Elder said police were canvassing the area, but no arrests were made immediately.
