A former Twin Cities television reporter who was convicted of gross misdemeanor drunken driving has been sentenced to a year in jail and three years of probation.
Hennepin County District Judge Gary R. Larson ordered former KMSP-TV reporter Beth McDonough to serve 30 days of the sentence with most of it as home confinement and electronic monitoring.
McDonough, 41, was arrested in November after she rear-ended a car on Interstate 394 near Hwy. 169 and fled the scene. She had a blood-alcohol reading of 0.24, or three times the legal limit, two hours after State Patrol troopers arrived at her home.
Her driver's license was revoked in December 2007 after she was convicted of third-degree drunken driving. Bill Dallman, KMSP's news director, said she was later fired.
