Seth Green, who originally committed to play quarterback at Oregon, made an official visit with the Gophers this weekend, drawing excitement that he could be very close to flipping to Minnesota.

Green was a standout at East Ridge before transferring to play his senior season in Allen, Texas. He and Oregon have mutually decided it's best for him to explore other options.

No coaching hires soon

Gophers coach Tracy Claeys said there is "zero" chance that he'll have his new offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach hired in time for the Dec. 28 Quick Lane Bowl. He said he plans to meet with the staff Monday before announcing who will call plays for the bowl game. Claeys had previously said it would likely be mid-January before the new coaches were hired.
