Quarterback Gibran Hamdan, who was released by the Buffalo Bills last month when they signed Brian Brohm off the Packers practice squad, was one of three "street" free agents who worked out for the Vikings on Tuesday.

The Vikings also looked at wide receiver Taye Biddle (Mississippi) and defensive back DeJuan Tribble (Boston College), who were teammates with the Florida Tuskers of the UFL. Florida just completed its season in the first-year league by losing to the Las Vegas Locomotives in the league's championship game.

Hamdan, 28, was a seventh-round pick by the Redskins out of Indiana in 2003. He also has spent time with the 49ers, Seahawks, Dolphins and most recently the Bills. Hamdan has thrown two passes in his career with both coming in 2003 while he was with Washington.

Also, the Vikings had defensive back Joe Porter (Rutgers) in for a visit on Tuesday. Porter did not have a tryout. He had been with Las Vegas of the UFL.
