Registration for the 35th Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and associated events opened Tuesday.

Runners can sign up on the race website (tcmevents.org) for the 26.2-mile race from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol in St. Paul. The race will be held Oct. 9 and will be limited to 11,600 participants.

Registration also is open for three other events to be held that weekend: the Medtronic TC Family Events, TC 5K and TC 10K.

The date for this year's Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend is a week later than usual, due to the Twin Cities area playing host to the Ryder Cup golf tournament during the first weekend in October.

Lottery registration for the Medtronic TC 10 Mile, which will be held Oct. 9, will open on July 6. That race will be limited to 10,600 registrants.
