Playwright Ann Bertram offers two discrete monologues, flimsily strung together. In the first, Greg (Edward Linder), stuck in the middle seat of a delayed flight at O'Hare, spills his life story to the passengers on either side. The transition is a call to his wife, Michelle (Stacey Poirier), who's subbing in a 7th grade classroom. Michelle gives etymology lessons based on words from "Lord of the Flies" while offering glimpses of her family and life. While the two performers do yeoman's work animating these monologues, "For Worse," sadly, is just that. (7 p.m. Sat. & Tue., 10 p.m. Thu., 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13, Mixed Blood Theatre, 1501 S. 4th St., Mpls.)
