Depending on whether you're on the side of Ren or the Rev. Moore, bring your dancing shoes or a Bible to "Footloose" at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (952-934-1525, www.chanhassentheatres.com). The musical is based on the 1984 movie, which pits a "gotta dance" kind of guy (Kevin Bacon) against a conservative preacher (John Lithgow) who banned dancing throughout a small town.

Starting with the July 4th weekend, two "Footloose" specials have been added. Buy one dinner and show at the regular price and get one free for performances through July 10. Evenings and matinees are included.

Kids up to age 16 get in free with the purchase of an adult ticket on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings through July, but the deal cannot be combined with the other offer. Both deals can be purchased only through the box office, not the website.

The show closes July 31. Ask for the "firecracker special" to get the deal. No adjustments will be made on previous purchases.

Needy art needs a home About 50 artists will discount their seconds, experiments and underappreciated pieces by 50 percent during a sale at Seasons on St. Croix Gallery (401 2nd St., Hudson, Wis., 1-715-381-2906, www.seasonsonstcroix.com). More than 3,500 pieces will be sold for $5 to $1,000 after the discount -- but most pieces, including pottery, glass, jewelry, fiber arts, wall art and mixed media, will be priced between $50 and $100. About 75 percent of the artists are local or regional. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday (half off the sale price).
