Flynn in, Ellington out

Wolves set for New Orleans

February 26, 2011 at 12:28AM

Greetings. I'll be covering the Wolves the next two days.

Just a few things for the pre-game:

1. The Wolves enter this game very, very light in the shooting guard department. Corey Brewer, of course, is gone. Martell Webster will dress, but his lower back is still very, very sore and he is doubtful, according to coach Kurt Rambis. And Wayne Ellington is out of town dealing with a personal matter. When asked who would backup Wes Johnson, Rambis scanned the assembled reporters. Haha.

2. Jonny Flynn will return to action after letting his hip and groin muscles rest for three games. It will be his first action since Feb. 14 against Portland. Flynn will come off the bench, with Luke double starting.

3. Kevin Love will go for double-double No. 45 straight tonight. He is currently tied with Moses Malone (1982-83) for longest streak since the NBA and ABA merged. I talked with Love a bit before the game about the perception by some that the streak has become more important than anything else. I'll writ about it in tomorrow's notebook.

Have fun watching the game.
