Flooding Concerns Across Southern Europe

A persistent storm spinning slowly through the Mediterranean Sea will fuelunsettled weather today through at least Tuesday.This storm will start to strengthen today, with showers and thunderstormsscattered about from northeastern Spain to Italy, including Corsica, Sardiniaand Sicily. The storm will continue to strengthen on Monday and Tuesday,resulting in heavier rain throughout the Mediterranean region.

The persistent and heavy rain will likely to lead to localized flash flooding,especially over the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily.
