The Wolves will supplement their usual home-opening night festivities Monday against Portland by honoring part-owner, president of basketball operations and coach Flip Saunders with a pregame video tribute at Target Center. Saunders died Sunday at age 60 because of complications from cancer treatments.
The tribute will feature friends, former colleagues and teammates and coaches, among others.
The team also that night will unveil a commemorative patch that players will wear on their jerseys all season. Wolves players wore "WE" warmup shirts with "Flip" near the heart before Wednesday's game against the Lakers and will wear them through the month of November.
