Flight delayed? MSP might not be so bad

A poll by an online travel dating website says stranded travelers would rather spend time at MSP than most other airports.

As we saw with Hurricane Sandy, weather can bring air transportation to a screeching halt and leave passengers stuck in terminals for hours, or in this case a few days.

We all know this is Minnesota, and sooner or later (and hopefully later) a snowstorm will roll through the Twin Cities and impact operations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. That is unless we have another wimpy winter like last year.

When weather, or mechanical problems, delay or cause your flight to be cancelled, getting stuck at MSP might not be so bad. According to the travel dating site MissTravel.com, travelers said MSP is the seventh best airport to get stranded in if it's going to happen.

The web site polled more than 5,000 of its members and came up with a top 10 list. Respondents ranked U.S. airports on criteria such as clenliness, entertainment, food and other amenities such as shopping and spas.

"In order to ease frustration, travelers need to be distracted and entertained while waiting," Brandon Wade, CEO of MissTravel.com, said in a press release.

Here is the top 10 list:

1. Dallas-Fort Worth

2. Pittsburgh
