In order to be placed into nomination for Republican endorsement, candidates needed to get 41 delegate signatures -- two percent of delegates.

All five gubernatorial candidates trying for endorsement -- Rep. Marty Seifert, Rep. Tom Emmer, former Rep. Bill Haas, activist Phil Herwig and environmentalist Leslie Davis -- passed that threshold to have their names placed in nomination.

The Republican rules also allowed a nomination committee to, "state whether they deem the candidates to be qualified or unqualified to receive endorsement."

The committee voted unanimously for all the candidates but Davis.

Bob Carney, who calls himself a moderate progressive Republican, didn't submit signatures thus will not have his name placed in nomination for endorsement. Carney has said he will run in a primary.
