A BIG BITE WEEKEND

It took South St. Paul's Ryan Pittman, a guest on a friend's boat, about 20 minutes to make this nice catch-and-release of a 47-inch muskie on Lake Plantagenet. Pittman used a jig and shiner with a med-light Walleye rod on a 6-pound test line on this Hubbard County lake just southwest of Bemidji.

PERSONAL BEST

Tom Clark of Minnetonka caught his opening-weekend, personal-best 28-inch walleye on Lake Waconia. He caught it using a DH Custom Rods with a ¼-ounce hair jig and shiner.

WATER'S EDGE

John Rickert of Bloomington caught this smallmouth bass from a dock on Sand Lake in northwestern Wisconsin on Sunday. Rickert caught it casting a Rapala.
