Here's a tip: Go to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website at dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/downtown/equipment.html for a brief primer about what's needed and how much it costs. Metro ponds and lakes stocked with fish for kids and locations of shore-fishing docks also are listed at the same online location.
