The Lynx will play the first of two preseason games – and their only one at home – against Atlanta at Xcel Energy Center Friday night. Coach Cheryl Reeve has a long list of things she'd like to accomplish, many players and combinations she wants to see. She just hopes four quarters against Atlanta is enough time to do all of that.

With just two preseason games -- the Lynx finish the preseason at Washington on Monday -- each becomes very important to Reeve, who has to make final roster decisions before the regular season opener May 14 vs. Chicago.

"You have to have a really good plan,'' she said. "We have multiple things we want to look at. But, sometimes, you have a plan on paper, all mapped out, and then the game starts and you crumple it up.''

The good news is that everyone other than Plenette Pierson (concussion) is available to play.

Here are a few things Reeve said she wanted to see Friday:

--Reeve wants to play her starters enough to work on their conditioning. Perhaps 20 minutes each, she said. Said she wants to see that they've absorbed what has been worked on the last two weeks.

--Alexis Jones. The rookie guard has had a good camp. Reeve wants to get a good look at her, with multiple lineups. She could play with some of the starters.

--Temi Fagbenle and Chantel Osahor. Very likely competing for a final roster spot, both post players will get minutes Friday.

--The mixing and matching of lineups in general. Reeve wants to see how different players work together.

--This will all be limited by the absence of Pierson, who sustained a concussion late in Wednesday's practice. The good news is Pierson was with the team at practice Thursday and seems to be progressing. But the Lynx are going to be very cautious with her, so she will likely miss both preseason games.
