Postgame snapshot from Mall of America Field where the Packers beat the Vikings 33-27.

Good news: Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has lauded the maturity and presence of rookie quarterback Christian Ponder. And while Ponder was far from error-free Sunday, he certainly did not seem overwhelmed, injecting energy into the Vikings offense and a sense of hope into the Mall of America Field crowd. Ponder's first pass of the day was a 72-yard completion to Michael Jenkins. His second pass was a 1-yard TD strike to Visanthe Shiancoe, giving the Vikings an early 7-0 lead. Ponder was 13-for-32 for 219 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. But rarely have such mediocre statistics seemed so encouraging. Furthermore, Adrian Peterson sprung to life with the change at quarterback rushing for 175 yards on 24 attempts. Bad news: Aaron Rodgers absolutely torched the Vikings' secondary all afternoon. With Antoine Winfield and Jamarca Sanford sidelined by injuries and Chris Cook still in jail after his Saturday arrest, the Vikings defensive backfield was in no way prepared to slow Green Bay's high-powered offense. Rodgers, playing the best football of his life, went 24-for-30 for 335 yards and three touchdown tosses. The biggest turning point of the game was Rodgers' 79-yard TD toss to Greg Jennings on the second play of the second half. That gave Green Bay its first lead of the afternoon at 20-17. They never trailed again. Extra point: The Vikings inducted Chris Doleman into the Ring of Honor at halftime. Doleman played 10 of his 15 NFL seasons in Minnesota and had 150.5 career sacks, including a single-season team record 21 in 1989. But that mark may only last for another few weeks. Jared Allen registered two more sacks Sunday afternoon, boosting his league-leading season total to 11.5. Allen set his own team record Sunday by recording a sack in his ninth consecutive game. Next up: The Vikings will travel to Charlotte next week to play the Panthers. Carolina (2-5) beat Washington 33-20 Sunday with rookie quarterback Cam Newton throwing for 256 yards and a touchdown while adding 59 rushing yards.
