Police are seeking murder charges against a St. Paul man arrested in connection with the death of a woman Tuesday in a duplex on the city's West Side.
Police identified the woman Wednesday as Gabriela Patricia Romo, 31, of Inver Grove Heights.
The 31-year-old suspect was an acquaintance of the woman, said police spokesman Peter Panos.
No weapons were used, Panos said, but Romo suffered internal injuries.
Police received reports about 6:50 a.m. Tuesday of an unconscious woman at a residence in the 700 block of S. Robert Street. Officers found Romo lying on a bedroom floor. Paramedics tried to revive her, but she died.
The suspect, who lived at the duplex, made the emergency call. He was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the Ramsey County jail. Charges are expected soon.
