The federal government today announced a nearly $1 million grant for a Minneapolis program that provides affordable housing, services and health care to people living with HIV/AIDS and other disabilities.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is giving the renewal of funding to Clare Housing, which operates three locations in the Twin Cities.

The $986,114 grant will be targeted to extremely low-income people and families.

The money is available through HUD's Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program.
