The Vikings' Brett Favre is second among NFL players in fan voting for the Pro Bowl but the veteran quarterback isn't leading his position group among NFC players. That's because the Saints' Drew Brees has received an NFL-leading 1,120,535 votes and Favre is close behind with 1,120,174 votes.

Favre is one of the few Vikings that doesn't have the lead at his position. The NFL released the latest voting figures today and 11 Vikings are in the lead at their respective spots. That list includes running back Adrian Peterson; fullback Naufahu Tahi; tackle Bryant McKinnie; guard Steve Hutchinson; center John Sullivan; defensive end Jared Allen; defensive tackle Pat Williams; kicker Ryan Longwell; punter Chris Kluwe; kick returner Percy Harvin and special-teams ace Heath Farwell.

Peterson (1,079,993) is fourth in total voting behind Colts quarterback Peyton Manning (1,113,934). Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, a Minneapolis native, is fifth with 684,698 votes.

The Vikings have five other players who are second at their position in the balloting among NFC players. Rookie tackle Phil Loadholt and guard Anthony Herrera are behind McKinnie and Hutchinson, respectively. Kevin Williams is second to Pat Williams at defensive tackle, Madieu Williams is second to New Orleans' Darren Sharper at free safety and Chad Greenway is behind Dallas DeMarcus Ware at outside linebacker.

Tyrell Johnson is third in voting at strong safety behind the Cardinals' Adrian Wilson and the Saints' Roman Harper and Antoine Winfield is third at cornerback behind Philadelphia's Asante Samuel and Green Bay's Charles Woodson. The Vikings' Cedric Griffin is fifth at cornerback. Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is fifth among NFC tight ends and Sidney Rice is fourth among wide receivers.

The fan vote via NFL.com only counts one-third toward determining the final roster for the Pro Bowl, which will be played on Jan. 31 at Dolphin Stadium a week before the Super Bowl is held at the same venue. Fan voting will end Dec. 21 and players and coaches will get to cast their votes on Dec. 22 and 23. The teams will be announced at 3 p.m. on Dec. 29 on the NFL Network.
