When: 7 p.m. Sun. Where: Bryant-Lake Bowl, 810 W. Lake St., Mpls. Tickets: $6-$8.Twin Cities garage-pop band Faux Jean gets the retrospective treatment with this new documentary, "History in the Faking." The band saw multiple lineup changes during its early-2000s heyday before becoming predominantly the solo project of frontman Matty Schindler. This lo-fi doc filmed primarily on Hi8 film by Minneapolis native Taylor Park focuses on the band's latter years, filmed between 2004 and 2006 during the recording of Faux Jean's final full-length studio album, "Light It Up, Burn It Down." Band interviews, live performances and recording sessions are pieced together in this so-called "home movie," screening for one night only. Clocking in at a lengthy running time of 2 hours and 37 minutes, it's clearly intended for hardcore fans and friends of the band. An acoustic performance by Faux Jean (the man) precedes the screening. JAHNA PELOQUIN
