A father of three with a marriage planned was shot and killed in a Moorhead home, reportedly by his friend and boss.

The suspect remained in Clay County jail on Sunday awaiting charges on suspicion of first-degree manslaughter in connection with the death late Thursday of Jacob C. Glover, 28, of West Fargo, Moorhead police said. He could be charged as soon as Monday.

According to police:

Officers arrived at the suspect's home in the 1800 block of 16th Street S. and found Glover down in a neighboring driveway. Glover was taken by ambulance to nearby Sanford Medical Center and later died.

Once inside the house, police identified the suspect, a 25-year-old man, and witnesses before securing the scene.

Officers also located a handgun, believed to be the suspect's, that had been fired several times. No one else was wounded.

A statement from police described the victim and suspect as "acquaintances that had a dispute-argument."

The gunman "was supposed to be Jacob's best friend," Glover's fiancée, Ashley Dowling, said in an interview with the Forum of Fargo.

Dowling also told the newspaper that the suspect was Glover's boss at Don's Car Wash in Fargo.

Glover and Dowling have three children together and were engaged to be married in the summer, she told the Forum.
