BLOOMBERG NEWSEPA says plants in violation of Clean Air Act
Allete Inc. of Duluth said its Minnesota Power unit has received a notice from the Environmental Protection Agency asserting violations of New Source Review requirements of the Clean Air Act at two plants. New Source Review requires stationary sources of air pollution to get permits before they start construction, according to the EPA's website. Allete identified the centers as Boswell Energy Center Units 1 to 4 and Laskin Energy Center, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Allete said Minnesota Power believes the projects were in full compliance.
