Steampunk consortium Libertine Asylum is throwing a fashion party with an undersea concept. Blasphemina's Closet, Scoundrelle's Keep and KMKDesigns as well as milliner Apatico and jewelry designer Bionic Unicorn will dress an underwater-themed cast of characters -- think mermaids, sea creatures, shipwrecked sailors and pirate ghosts. With music from Uzza, Dissociate, Anjela and DJ Fenris.

Max Lohrbach moved back to his Mantorville, Minn., homestead last year after receiving a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council and the Mantorville Art Guild. With it, he created an installed illustration that combines his two talents: fashion design and painting. The life-sized display depicts a Victorian-era seated group, posed as if getting a portrait taken. The gorgeous paintings and clothing should be worth the drive.
