Local jewelry trunk show

Old meets new at this trunk show as local jewelry lines Scout Vintage by Tracy Bennett and Natalie Lucas showcase their fall collections. Both lines are crafted from a mix of semiprecious stones and vintage pieces, reconstructed into bold, one-of-a-kind creations. Hosted by designer resale boutique June, the event is a great chance to check out the shop's delectable selection of designer treasures. (5-8 p.m. Aug. 13, 3406 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. 612-354-3970.)

Tatters Half-Off Sale

Few vintage shops have as devoted a clientele as Tatters. It's been around since 1980, when it was called Tatters & Platters (a reference to the vinyl records it once carried). The shop is a favorite for its great selection of men's leather motorcycle jackets, combat boots and sunglasses, and the ladies love the vintage dresses and jewelry. This weekend it hosts its semiannual sale, in which everything is 50 percent off. (Sat. & Sun. 2928 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. 612-823-5285.)
