BEAUTY NOTES

HAIR: Stylist Jen Hughes straightened Kylie's naturally curly hair by using Aveda's Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother ($24) when her hair was wet. "The effect is two-fold," she said. "When she's on vacation in her resort wear, it defends against humidity. If she leaves it curly, it would also eliminate frizz and prevent flyaways. In the winter, it delivers a little moisture to hair so it's not so dry in this lovely Minnesota weather."

MAKEUP: Makeup artist Malee Xiong used MAC's new neutral-toned N Collection. Mineralize Skinfinish ($24.50) on cheeks gave Kylie a bronzed resort look. On her eyes, Xiong used a shadow in Nanogold to highlight the brow bone and eyelid and Remotely Gray in the crease ($14 each). Also, always start with a hydrating moisturizer such as MAC's Moisturelush cream for the face ($32) and eyes ($30). Starting with freshly moisturized skin helps makeup go on more smoothly.
