Fashion: Fest-dressed

Music in Mears on Aug. 19 and the Red Stag Block Party on Aug. 21 battled it out for which event had the best outfits.

Megumi Maeda

What are you wearing? I got the dress from a Native American at a flea market. I got the inner, long camisole at an ethnic cloth shop in Japan.

Describe your style: I like wearing ethnic or handmade clothes.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Thirty minutes.

What's the best fashion advice you've ever gotten? It is important to totally coordinate. That's including accessories and hairstyle.

Claire Davidson

21, student/music columnist

What are you wearing? A Silence + Noise corset from Urban Outfitters. A halter dress from American Apparel tied at the waist and worn as a skirt. Tory Burch sandals.

Describe your style: Urban-feminine.

Whose style do you admire? Marion Cotillard, Chan Marshall, Jean Seberg and my roommate.

What's the best fashion advice you've ever gotten? If it makes you dance around in the dressing room, get it.

Cory Chisel

What are you wearing? My grandfather's hat, Corpus shirt, Levi's jeans, Esquivel shoes.

Describe your style: I usually lean toward dark, fitted clothing. I like clothing that alludes to an earlier era of fashion.

Whose style do you admire? I've always loved movies like "Dead Man" and "Northfork."

Best fashion advice? Wear clothes you've found while traveling. It's good when your clothes say something about who you are or where you've been.

Crystal Meisinger

32, artist with four part-time jobs

What are you wearing? Apostrophe elf booties, '50s-style snow-bunny cocktail dress from Buffalo Exchange, Grandma's vintage necklace, socks from Goodwill.

Describe your style: All of my favorite clothes worn at the same time.

Your best accessory: My curly blond wig.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Fifteen minutes to an hour, depending on the strategy.
