Here's what's happening this weekend, events-wise, at Twin Cities farmers markets. For a map of metro-area markets, go here.

Saturday: At the Minneapolis Farmers Market, local blogger Bill Roehl will explore the world of peppers, including a demonstration (and free samples, of course) of several pepper dishes.10:30 a.m.

Saturday: Bicyclists, listen up: Be one of the first 50 bikers to pedal to the Bloomington Farmers Market and receive a $2 voucher to spend that morning (maybe use it to buy apples, which are coming in a week or two earlier than usual). Market opens at 8 a.m.

Saturday: It's all about salsa this weekend at the Mill City Farmers Market. Pick up cooking tips from Spoonriver chef Chris Bundy (salsa) and cookbook author Robin Asbell (raspberry salsa) and enjoy free samples. 10:30 a.m. Also, be sure to drop by the Prairie Organic Vodka booth for a sample of a "Prairie Mary," made with locally grown tomatoes.
