YANKEE THANKSGIVING

President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the first day of Thanksgiving in 1863. Visit the Kelley Farm and experience what the holiday was like when Bostonian Oliver H. Kelley moved to Minnesota and celebrated his first holiday here. Hike nature trails, explore the barn and root cellar and smell the savory aromas of a hearty Thanksgiving meal. Meet the animals and learn how early settlers prepared for the winter months. (2 p.m. next Sun. $7. Oliver Kelley Farm, 15788 Kelley Farm Rd., Elk River. 763-441-6896, www.mnhs.org.)

RATED T

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts hosts a social event just for teens. The evening, with the theme of wearable art, promotes creative expression at the museum. High school students are invited to screenprint bandanas with local artist Natasha Pestich or work with MCAD students to embellish tote bags. Strike a pose in the photo booth, take a digital scavenger hunt and listen to music by Bomba de Luz. (6-9 p.m. Thu. Free. 2400 3rd Av. S., Mpls. www.artsmia.org.)
