Grand Day Parade

Anoka, self-proclaimed Halloween Capital of the World, has begun a wickedly fun season of activities. Families will scurry about today looking for a medal that will win them a coveted prize. The American Legion post will host an open house where guests can find out how the annual event is organized and how witches and warlocks make magic happen. Neighbors will try to best each other for the scariest and most original home in a house-decorating contest. Other activities include a preschool costume contest, kiddie parade, spooktacular carnival and parade. (Today-Sat. Events held at various times and locations throughout Anoka. Go to www.anokahalloween.com for details.)
