CARY, N.C. – Minnesota United FC tied the Carolina RailHawks 2-2 on Saturday night in its final regular- season NASL match.

That result, coupled with San Antonio's 1-0 victory over the New York Cosmos in stoppage time, means the Scorpions win the fall season title. United was the spring season champion and is still the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Another key match Saturday also ended in a draw, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers tied the visiting Ottawa Fury 1-1 to secure the fourth and final spot for the Championship, the NASL's four-season postseason tournament.

The Strikers will play United on Saturday at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

Carolina took a 1-0 lead on United in the 22 minute on Nacho Novo's goal. But Christian Ramirez of the Loons tied the score in 52nd minute with his 20th goal, which ties a NASL single-season record. Shooting with the outside of his foot, he put a shot inside the near post with a shot from just outside the penalty area.

Nazmi Albadawi put the RailHawks ahead 2-1 in the 74th minute, but United tied the match again on an own goal in the 86th minute.

Ramirez had a chance to win the match for United in the 90th minute but was stopped by the keeper.
