Greetings.

Things just keep getting more interesting in Columbus.

Check out this story about Terrelle Pryor. All it takes is an upset loss and everyone's up in arms about the OSU quarterback. Now his high school quarterback is chiding Jim Tressel about the way Terrelle Pryor is being used. He should run more, the fellow says.

OK.

So what does this mean for Gophers fans? I think the first few series of Saturday's game is going to be hugely important. I think OSU is going to come out determined to quiet critics and give Pryor -- who has struggled -- some confidence. I do think they're going to let him run more.

Now, if the Gophers are able to stymie the OSU offense early, frustration is sure to follow. If OSU starts the game struggling on offense the fans are going to let them hear it. And so I think we'll have a pretty good idea of the way the game is going to end by the way it begins.

Just my opinion, of course.

In other news, center Jeff Tow-Arnett had the cast taken off the leg where he had surgery to mend a broken bone. He has been called out for the season, but Tow-Arnett continues to believe he'll be available to play before the regular season has ended. He has to wear a protective boot for about a week then he starts rehab. Don't count him out.

The Gophers moved practice inside today. They were without pads. Tuesday they went in only shells on a day when they've gone full pads for much of the season. It's clear coach Tim Brewster is trying to keep the guys fresh.

That's about it. Have a good day.
