I Am MPLS!
Producer Sarah Edwards' sixth annual I Am MPLS! event takes a novel approach to celebrating the city and the people who make it livable. There's a runway show, yes, but instead of the usual models, Edwards enlists notable creatives, makers, doers, chefs and shakers — wearing looks from boutiques such as Cliché, b. resale, Proper and Prim, Atmosfere and Roe Wolfe. This year's "models" include chef Sameh Wadi (Saffron), Still Kickin' founder Nora McInerny Purmort and the mayor's senior policy adviser for youth development and racial equity, Phillipe Cunningham. With music and comedy performances. Proceeds benefit the Children's Cancer Research Fund. (7 p.m. today. $15-$50. First Avenue, 701 1st Av. N., Mpls. etix.com.)
I Am St. Paul!
The second annual St. Paul edition highlights designs from Oskar Ly, Primp and Heimie's Haberdashery, with live music. (7 p.m. Dec 12. $15-$50. Turf Club, 1601 W. University Av., St. Paul. etix.com.)
