Envision: Artopia

In the couple of years since it debuted, Ignite Models' biannual Envision fashion show has cemented itself as a keystone event of MNfashion Week. The presentation manages to get bigger each time out, now with 20 local designers and boutiques. New entries this time are Calpurnia Peach, an innovative duo known for its girlish designs and original screenprints; Tender Cuts, an extremely on-trend and wearable line by newcomer Emily Bryngelson that hip girls will love; YQY by Vivian, a new line by Chinese import Vivian Aronson, who's making waves with an upcoming showing at Boston Fashion Week, and ArielSimone by Adrienne Yancy, which was featured alongside "Project Runway" finalists at New York Fashion Week. Envision favorites Jenny Carle, Amanda Christine, K.Jurek, Russell Bourrienne and PFT Couture return, and "Project Runway" alum Christopher Straub will preview his spring 2011 collection. --Jahna Peloquin

Babes in Bikeland 4

Though Babes in Bikeland is best known as a gritty race for dedicated female cyclists, its organizers this year are making it more inclusive of all types of female riders. Scrappy competitive types can participate in the alleycat-style race to win prizes from bike shops and others (you can also enter a raffle). Otherwise, it's a novel idea for a girls' night out: Instead of getting your nails done and drinking cosmos, grab your besties for a leisurely ride. It starts at the Soap Factory and goes for 20 miles through beloved Minneapolis landmarks, ending in a party at the Angry Catfish in south Minneapolis. --Jahna Peloquin

Sever's Corn Maze and Fall Festival

This year Sever's Corn Maze and Fall Festival is partnering with the Minnesota Vikings to celebrate the team's 50th season. The Nordic-themed labyrinth dares fans to show their horns and brave their way through twists and turns in the field of corn. Other attractions include live music, petting zoo, wildlife and magic shows and pig races. Each weekend Sever's will give away Vikings tickets. --Melissa Walker
