Excerpt: Minneapolis has always been a city to embrace the band "since the word go," lead singer Bono Hewson told a Minneapolis Auditorium audience before breaking into "I Will Follow," the song that launched U2 from the rock clubs of Dublin in 1981 to the critical and commercial wider world. .... Tuesday's performance of that song brought to mind all that the band embodies: allegiance, compassion and a soaring flight from turmoil, spiritual as well as physical.
