Minnesota's next governor will be at the Minnesota Capitol on Tuesday.

Given the closeness of the 2010 race, it is unclear whether Republican Tom Emmer or Democrat Mark Dayton will take on that role but both will make appearances in the state's hallowed halls.

Emmer, who hasn't made a public appearance since his election night party, will hold a 1 p.m. news conference at the Capitol.

Dayton, who has appeared before the media several times since last week, will have a 4 p.m. meeting with Gov. Tim Pawlenty to discuss transition issues. Emmer had a similar meeting Monday, although his was unannounced.

Dayton currently has a 8,751- vote lead. Under Minnesota state law, that is close enough to trigger an automatic recount.
