Well, surprise, surprise: Reality TV isn't totally real.

Nancy Bush, an account executive for the Star Tribune, appeared on ABC's "Shark Tank" last week with her business partner Sue Kruskopf, trying to sell the "Sharks" on online funeral-service arrangements. None of them bit, but Bush said the appearance provided the exposure they were looking for.

It also provided some insight into how these shows work.

"We knew the outcome before the show aired, but we didn't know how they would edit it," Bush said. "In the end we were fine with it, but it was like they put it in a blender. It was so out of sequence!"

Sadly, Bush said they didn't get any off-camera time with the "Sharks." "We were only exposed to their 'on-camera' personalities and tactics for making entrepreneurs squirm!" she said.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
