Great headline: EU probes Elton John concert it funded. To see if it had a good time? No:

Because they could? Because it's not money they personally took from taxpayers? Because it's coming from Brussels, which derives is power from giving money, not caring where it goes? Because no one will lose his job over this? Because they all got to shake hands with Sir Elton? And so on.

Don't ask why Elton didn't do it for free - even though it's been a while since we've heard one of those "Elton is spending too much money, sources say" stories, he still probably has enormous bills. The man has castles. Castles cost a lot.
