Ellison: Obama should go to Wisconsin

Rep. Keith Ellison says the president should stand with workers in Wisconsin.

Rep. Keith Ellison said Wednesday evening that President Obama should travel to Wisconsin to jump into the Wisconsin budget fight over collective bargaining rights.

"I think that President Obama should come to Wisconsin and stand with the workers," Ellison said in an interview on MSNBC.

Ellison, who is co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said that Obama has made statements supporting the workers already, but he wanted the president to do more because it's working people who will be supporting the president in 2012.

On Wednesday morning, Ellison also said that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was taking "the posture of a dictator" for refusing to compromise.

Organizing for America, the unofficial political arm of White House, was criticized by conservatives after it got involved in the Wisconsin fight last week.
