Phil Hands is the editorial cartoonist for the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he grew up in the Detroit area before moving to Wisconsin in 2005. He is a graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and received his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. (The Minnesota Star Tribune)
